A typical application is hydroponic growing tables in tunnel houses. The HT-Table Top (TTH) runs on rails at the edge of each table. The crop is cut and blown into the collection bag. The HT-Table Top has adjustable cutting height from negative values to more than 400mm (customised to suit customer) so can also be used for topping crops.
Cutting widths of 1210 or 1600mm are available with frames made to suit your table width/rails. An extendable frame option is available.

Another example of a research project.
In this case it is an underwater harvester. The crop (Dropwart) is grown in 300mm deep water and the harvester cuts it 100mm off the bottom.
This project is just being trialled by the customer.
In operation, the HT-Aqua is started and pushed forward about 400mm into the crop. It is then throttled back. The operator inserts his hands into the top of the crop at about the “cut line” and pulls the cuttings rearwards into the basket. The basket is then tilted backwards, removed and emptied onto the tray area where the cuttings are bundled. This is repeated then the operator carries the two bundles of cuttings to a pontoon or transport at the edge of the lagoon.

The HT- Leaf Plucker has a rotary plucking head enabling the stripping of flower heads and leaf (leaving the stem behind) The HT- Leaf Plucker is ideal for crops such as stevia and pyrethrum.

The Salad Tray Harvester is used where the operator brings plant trays to the harvester. The power head cuts and blows the cuttings up a chute and into bins. A conveyor moves the product trays under and past the cutter head which is fully height adjustable.
Typical crops they harvest include loose leaf salad plants and low growing herbs such as Thyme, Rocket, Arugula, Baby Spinach, Baby Greens, Cress, Endive, Mache, Mizuna, Mesculin, Romaine, Spinach, Tatsoi, Baby Beet, Mache, Micro Greens and others. The Salad tray cutter can also be used for topping seedlings and taking cuttings for propogation.
The Salad Tray Harvester is custom made to suit the customer’s requirements. Petrol engines or electric motors can be used and either manual or powered conveyors. Available in a range of cutting widths.

The HT–Straddle Trimmer (HT-ST) has been designed for trimming bushes, vines or hedges to shape. The HT-ST comes with the option of fitting collection bags to gather cuttings for planting out.
The HT-ST power heads can also be removed and spray apparatus can be attached making this a handy piece of equipment to keep your bushes, vines and hedges healthy.

The Cutter bar should be lubricated with food grade lubricant whenever refuelling and before storing. (Use Ochiai original grease, this can be ordered by using the form below.)
Silicon lubricants can be applied to hinge points, sliding areas etcetera. A drop of oil should be applied to the throttle cable at each end before storage.
Annually check cutter bar bolts for wear and replace nuts, bolts and washers as required. Sharpen the cutter bar if required. (Rarely required)

Fits to the front of larger ride-on mowers, ATVs, quadbikes or small tractors. Versatile for collecting a range of nuts, including chestnuts, hazelnuts and walnuts. The operating principle is very important — the harvester must be out in front so that the nuts are collected before they can be run over.
Latest model has hydraulic power for raise/lower or bin tipping — see main picture above. The nut harvester can be supplied with its own power pack or for use with a tractor hydraulic supply (only small supply required). With the increased bin capacity of the latest model, the smaller mower shown in the pictures is no longer large enough — bigger prime movers are required.
